Apt. #1

So, last week marked a big occasion - our first doctor's appointment!

Here are some of the highlights:

1. Andrew's face of panic (only for a second) when we walked into an overflowing waiting room exploding with pregnant women and children!  There was one other guy there - so they exchanged sympathy glances and felt better then.

2.  The view from the doctors office/hospital...beautiful!  We look right out to the lovely San Gabriel mountains.

3.  Running into someone I knew...luckily no one that would spill our secret!  I saw a substitute teacher who had subbed for me earlier this year!

4.  Liking our doctor.  I was nervous about this since I just picked her out of a list and brief description of doctors.  Luckily Dr. Schori was very nice, friendly, and helpful and we were very pleased with her.

5.  Hearing the words "There is a strong heart beat in there" mixed with the view of our little peanut on the sonogram screen.  We couldn't believe it and this was finally proof and conformation that we are not making this us!  I have never experienced anything like that before.  It was amazing.

So, I was a week off in my estimations of things - at the time of the visit, the baby was measuring in at about 7 weeks.  This puts our due date right around January 31.  I am so silly - but I really hope this little one comes in January.  In the Jack/Denice and Bob/Sue families, there are birthdays in every month except January!  I am just so OCD that I feel like this would complete things a bit and make us more even for the year....I know, it really doesn't matter!

Overall - I would say this first visit was an all around success.  :)
