Andrew and I have been overwhelmed with lists of things to get done lately, so I do apologize for the lapse in postings. In exciting news, part of our time has been spent getting ready for the family to arrive in a few days! We are anxiously anticipating my parents and sister, Rach, her boys, my grandma and aunt Cheryl coming to Pasadena on Thursday! We have slowly been transforming our home into a baby-ready place, although we do have a long ways to go. I also realized that I only have 5 FULL weeks of school left to teach before Christmas break! This doesn't mean only 5 weeks, there are several other shorter weeks in there, but with holidays and trips coming up, I only have 5 5 day weeks ahead of me! Which is great news on one hand but scary on the other...that means time is flying and our little girl will be here before we know it! Yes and Yikes! This week, her 24th week, she is now weighing in at over a pound and about the length of an ear of corn! She loves hearing her daddy talk - whenever Andrew reads to her at night she starts moving all over. The other day we actually SAW my belly move while she was kicking around in there. I was comparing pictures today from ones that I took just a few days ago and I really think I am growing exponentially by the day at this point. The clothing options get more limited each day and I can hardly wait to get home to my sweats! I love it.
Today we had a wonderful southern California fall day - about 70 degrees or so - and we headed out to an apple orchard with some great friends. We had a super afternoon out on the farm and then headed back to our place for some white, chicken chili! It was delicious and a superb fall day. I look forward to baking with all of the apples that we brought home.
We bought tickets to come to MN! Andrew and I can't wait! I am hoping that there will be snow on the ground by then - it will really be our only chance to experience winter! We arrive on Friday, Nov 6 and will just be in town for that weekend - leaving Sunday the 8th. It will be a quick trip but we are very excited and grateful that we will be able to be there at all before little Miss Wright is born.
Much Love from California!
P.S. The picture of me in front of Pasadena City Hall was last week's - 23 weeks and the apple orchard photo is from today - 24 weeks. You can also check flickr for more apple orchard pics!
