WrightVentures: Camping Again :)

For the second weekend in a row, Andrew, Ev, and I headed up into the mountains for some more camping. This time, however, we were blessed with the company of the Novak and Moore families. Evie had a great time playing with all of her boy-friends - Eli, Joel, and Silas. She loves watching other kids and laughing at what they do...like her daddy, she is a social butterfly! Leah Beth and I headed up on Friday afternoon with our kids and met the Novaks up there. Andrew and David were not far behind us, once they got off work. I must interject here that LB and I (and maybe Katie too, I am not sure) packed up our entire families for the camping journey, while keeping the kids in tow, too! I just have to toot my own horn and say that we are super-women :)

Anyways, Friday night consisted of setting up camp, doing a little exploring, wood-hunting for the boys, cooking dinner over the fire, and roasting s'mores. All of the kiddos, once they fell asleep, did very well in the tents, but I was still very relieved to see the sun poking its head up in the morning! Meals are always much better in the woods, and this was no exception. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee, hot chocolate, and poptarts, of course, prepared us for our hiking journey!

After breakfast, we hit the trail and hiked down to a little swimming hole. Andrew and Joel tried fishing but didn't catch much more than a stick! The water was clean, refreshing, and very cold! On the hike back to camp, I think all of the kids were either asleep or pretty well zoned out...a sign of a good hike!

We headed for home after lunch and were all in agreement that our first group camping trip was quite a success :)
