Disneyland!

Evie had her first taste of Disneyland! Andrew had to wait until he was 25 years old before he went to Disneyland and Evie went before her first birthday. Such a California girl. We were only able to go because of some free tickets that our friend David hooked us up with :) Because they were free and expired real soon, we had to go on our one free day - Monday - and only had a few hours there. This turned out to be plenty of time for all of us! We had a lot of fun and Evie was such a trooper. This face, one of awe/amazement/confusion/nervousness/shock/excitement, was evident most of our afternoon and evening there!

We had enough time to ride 3 rides and see the fireworks at the end of the night. Evie and I rode the carousel together! She was really excited about the horse when we weren't moving and she liked sitting on it then...

But, once we got going and her horse started to go up and down...

Ev was ready to get off!
After the Merry Go Round, we headed over to my favorite...

Disneyland was so pretty and festive...all decked out for Christmas, and It's a Small World was no exception! It was so fun to ride through the tunnels and see the Christmas decorations and traditions from around the world. I loved it and Evie was, again, in awe of all the lights, music, and action happening around her!

Finally, our last stop was Dumbo! This was especially sentimental for me since I rode on this same one when I was 2 years old with my mom! Andrew was very excited to "fly" with Evie in the elephant! Although the ride is short, it goes pretty fast and can go pretty high...I must admit that I was quite nervous for Ev to ride, but they had a great time! She never cried on any of these rides - just got a bit sheepish!

We have video of all of these, too, which I will attempt to upload to flickr soon - along with more pictures of our adventures!

The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display over the enchanted castle - all lit up for Christmas! The best surprise came at the very end, though, while "White Christmas" played over the loud speakers...snow! "Real" snow sprayed over all of us! It was great. Of course, this is nothing compared to what we will see/experience in just a few days, but, it held us over for now :)

That was our short, first, family adventure at Disney - a fabulous afternoon/evening with our sweet girl. She, and mom, promptly fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Check back for more flickr pictures/video soon...for now, I have to go to bed!
