MN - Part II: Lakes

Oh, land of 10,000 lakes, we love you! With all the snow/rain that MN had this winter/spring, the lakes and rivers were just bursting at their banks and so gorgeous! We loved being around water again and the ability to just head to the lake on a moments notice. From each of our parents houses, a lake is literally just down the street, and we took advantage of this on many afternoons/evenings.

Evie started the trip by being very sheepish of the lakes.

Here she is, on the shores of Bryant Lake, and refusing to even get her feet wet! This was only on day 2, or so, of rediscovering her MN roots.

Clearly it didn't take long for Evie to realize how much she loved being in a lake!
Here she is, in middle of a large lake, loving the water! She insisted on jumping in with us! I even got her to blow bubbles a few times!

One of the greatest things about a lake, is the ability to be on it! We had wonderful opportunities to spend some great time on the lakes this summer.
We had a great weekend at a cabin on a lake with Andrew's family. There was a pontoon boat for us to use, and this was so much fun. Evie was able to walk around and loved being on board. I also wasn't too nervous with Ezra on the boat, since we didn't move that quickly.
My cousins were also gracious enough to take us out for an afternoon on their speed boat. This was a completely different experience than the pontoon! Evie loved this boat because of how fast we could go and she liked the wind in her face! I, however, was a bit nervous with Ez on this boat, and he eventually hung out with Grandma on the beach :) However, Evie got to go tubing! As you can see, the tube was much more like a couch and she LOVED it! Andrew and I tried to go alone while she was in the boat, and she cried the entire time, screaming "more, more!"
When we got back to CA, we found ourselves saying "lets go jump in the lake!" Only to be sadly reminded that the nearest lake is an hour away...
Just another reason why MN is (Lake) Superior.
