Boy or Girl

Today we saw Dr. Schori for the second time.  It was a very quick visit - mostly us asking questions about our upcoming trips..."is it ok for me to hike, what elevation should we stay away from," etc.  She was totally cool about everything - just said to listen to my body and see how I feel!  I decided that I like her because she is really laid back.  She doesn't give us a lot of scary, stressful information that we don't need - she just lets us know the basics and is really calm about everything.  Since I seem to be stressed out enough on my own and do enough research, I decided that her personality type is good for me.  Speaking about me being a high strung human, the baby seems to be following in my footsteps...180 beats per/min was the heart beat!  Flying right along!  It was so cool to hear this sound and the baby cooperated right away - Dr. Schori found the heart beat as soon as she put the sensor thing on my belly!  I still can't really believe that there is something living inside of me - but this was another confirmation that it's really happening!  We will have a regular 4 week check up right after we return from MN and then as soon as we get back from Hawaii, we find out what kind of baby this is growing!!!  Boy or girl?  Start the bidding!  September 4 will be the big reveal day.  We can't wait.  So, I did some research and have come conflicting reports...the old-wives tales say that a heartbeat over 140 means its a girl.  However, the chinese conception chart says that we are having a boy.  So, there you go, thats all I've got to help you in your deciding! 50/50 chance.  I'm just glad she/he is healthy with a strong heart beat!
