Here we (baby and I) are at Manhattan Beach again – one of our fav locations. This time it was actually essential that we head to the beach. With Pasadena’s temperatures nearing 100 degrees and our little home not doing an adequate job of keeping us cool, there was nothing else to do but head west and jump in the Pacific. It felt great. Andrew and I also enjoyed riding our bikes over to the farmers market this weekend and I must admit, I did have fun! Much to the joy of Andrew (and my dad) I have agreed to get a bike, maybe for my birthday, and attempt that form of physical activity. There is even, VERY TENTATIVE, talk about me riding along on the bike trip next year…no promises or commitments have been made!
So, the picture doesn't appear to show much difference in my mid-section. However, during the latter half of this week, I have begun to feel more bloated and like I am ballooning up! So, who knows...maybe baby Wright will begin to make an appearance soon?!
Here’s the quote of the day by Andrew Clark: “You have become so much cooler since you’ve been pregnant. Is this all you needed to be happy? Why didn’t you tell me this before?!” He is referring to a few different things:
1. I currently really enjoy cheeseburgers (hence the past McDonalds venture). Today I saw our neighbor walk into his house with an In-n-Out Burger bag and that was all it took for me to NEED that for lunch! You must know that in the past, I have been adamantly opposed to In-n-Out and never wanted to go anywhere that only allowed me the option of a burger. However, all of this has changed, and fries and a cheeseburger now sound delicious. As soon as my burger was done, I was sad. I hate when they end. Who knows how long this craving will last…hopefully not too long, but Andrew is enjoying it along with me!
2. I know longer “freak out” when the house is a little bit messy. It’s true – I just do not have the energy to have the dishes done constantly or the laundry put away at all times.
3. “You’re just so laid back,” says Andrew. I think this may have something to do with me being on summer break – but it is true in regards to pregnancy as well. I just don’t care about much else right now! I am enjoying relaxing and taking life a bit easier these days. In the past, I have been somewhat of a “do-er” – using every spare moment to get something done – now, not so much. Now I enjoy naps in my spare time! This tiredness should soon subside a bit as we near the second trimester, but for now, I’m taking advantage of what I can!
Big news of the week – baby is growing fingernails! He/she is about the size of a fig and almost all of the essentials are fully developed and will just continue to grow over the next 29 weeks. Yikes, that seems like forever. We have doctor appointment #2 on Wednesday – hopefully we will get to hear a heart beat! I’ll keep you posted…
