Week 20 passed in a flash here at the Wright household. With school in full swing these days, I find it hard to get laundry done or dinner made - let alone update the blog! I currently have 32 4th/5th graders and am anxiously awaiting those numbers to drop and become all 4th graders. Keep praying that this happens sooner rather than later! I am enjoying these kids - very sweet and nice - just talkative! We have Back To School Night on Tuesday so I will meet parents and families at that time. I still can't believe another year has begun.
We are now officially passed the half way mark of this pregnancy - another phenomenon that we can't quite swallow! The growing belly is evidence of this, however, and I do feel as though I stick out a bit more each day. The students think so too and they love to give name suggestions and ask about the baby. This week our daughter is about the length of a carrot and weighing in at almost an entire pound! I am anxious to see how many pounds I will weigh in at tomorrow when we have a doctor's appointment - the scale may tip quite a bit this month!
She is quite the mover! I feel her moving around most during the morning and evening hours - especially as I lay in bed at those times. Andrew has been able to feel some much stronger kicks in the last few days, too. We are trying to get her opinion on some names...we say one and wait to feel if she responds, however, so far she has been quite indifferent! There are probably three strong names that we are really considering...don't get too excited, they are still under lock and key!
Here are some other happenings as the weeks fly by for little Miss Wright:
1. I have been suddenly plagued with restless arm syndrome! Not legs - as you have probably heard of - but when I get tired, my right arm feels like everything inside of it needs to escape from my skin! Odd, I know, and very uncomfortable!
2. As baby gets bigger, I am trying to sleep on my left side to aid in circulation. Luckily, I am a side sleeper and haven't had too much of a problem with this...its just a matter of staying this way through the night.
3. Speaking of through the night, it is a very rare that I make it through the night without as least one trip to the bathroom. The urination factor is up a few notches these days and I go FREQUENTLY!
4. Knowing that we have reached the 21 week mark comes with both relief and anxiety for Andrew and I. I have heard that babies born after 20 weeks are much more viable and more likely to survive, so that is a good feeling. However, we do not want this little one to make her entrance for quite awhile! The other night, Andrew awoke to find me out of bed - it was one of the many occasions of taking a trip to the bathroom - however, he had just dreamt that I had had the baby and was worried that I was in the bathroom, in labor and came to find me to check on me! So, we are both having some crazy dreams and just praying that she continues to develop in a healthy way!
Other than that, life is great here in Pasadena. It is going to be a hot week - over 100 degrees every day. I am actually kind of grateful that I have to go to school and be in my air conditioned classroom all day! More news from Wrightland later...love to all!
P.S. The picture of me with Pinkberry is from week 20 and the one with me outside marks week 21!
