So, we had another ultrasound on Friday - I will try to scan and upload those photos soon - and we had some great and exciting news! First of all, we confirmed once again that this baby is indeed a she! I was still a bit skeptical but this time around, even I saw the evidence! We also have been worried that she was still breech and not in her correct position yet...she proved us wrong and is, as I suspected, a good rule follower! She is already head down and all curled up in there! That was a welcome relief as I would really like to avoid a c-section if at all possible. I titled this blog 34ish weeks because that was the other "big" news....finding out exactly how big she is already! From what the ultrasound tech measured, this girl is already over 5.5 lbs and about 16 inches long! That puts her at about an 8 lb birth weight and predicted to be 21 inches long...exactly what her mama was! So, this altered our due date a bit. At first the ultrasound tech said January 27 but then said anywhere after January 21, even, because of her size! It appears that we will have a baby in January, I hope, instead of February as once thought. This was also good to hear and has motivated us to get more done! Andrew set up the crib this weekend and her room is slowly coming together. I also had another baby shower on Friday, at work, and we were, again, blessed with so many nice gifts. I am feeling a little more prepared each day. I just keep hoping and praying that she gives me these three weeks off from school before making her appearance...this is my time to get everything ready! So, we are all anxious to hear what the doctor says about her size and if she will want to induce or anything.
In other news, we are looking forward to heading up to Santa Barbara for Christmas this week! Although we are very sad not to be in MN this year, we are grateful for the opportunity to see some family, Aunt Sooz and Uncle Greg, on Christmas. It is very weird to be wearing shoes without socks and going out into the sunny, 70 degree weather! This picture was taken this weekend, in Hollywood, when it was almost 80 degrees! It is different Christmas for us! We will be thinking of you all, MN family and friends, and missing you dearly!
I will keep you updated on any happenings with baby's arrival! Until then, Merry Christmas and much love, to all!
