Christmas in Santa Barbara was wonderful. Andrew and I felt very blessed by the hospitality and generosity bestowed upon us by Sooz and Greg and their extended family. It was very weird to be in sunshine and warmth for Christmas, but it was a fun change that we embraced. We especially missed the crazy blizzard and weather that all you mid-westerners got! Andrew, instead, went for a bike ride on Christmas Eve and a run on the beach on Christmas morning!
One of the weekend highlights was going to the mid-night mass at the Old Santa Barbara Mission on Christmas Eve. It was beautiful and packed! I don't do this often, but I did pull the pregnancy card a little bit and get Andrew and I a seat! The music and atmosphere were incredible. They had a nativity set up outside with live donkeys and other animals and I, again, was overwhelmed to think of getting on that donkey and riding as far as Mary did in a similar state to me! I love the way God orchestrates His plan....so odd to the rest of us but so perfectly ordained and executed. This is just another reminder to me that He has it all figured out!
We have a doctor appointment tomorrow and I am anxious to hear what she has to say about this baby's size. Maybe she can give some prediction for a birthday! Andrew and I are making progress on our ever growing list and getting more and more anxious for ___ to arrive!
In the mean time, I am loving my days off - 2 weeks left! Andrew is back to getting up at 5 AM again to finish the last few PhD applications that he is working on and we are looking forward to New Years! We will go to the Rose Parade on the 1st and then to the RoseBowl game that afternoon!
You will notice that I added a link (to the right) for our flickr page - just click there and you will be brought to our photos!
2010 is sure to be an exciting year for the Wright family and we are looking forward to it. May you anticipate joy and peace in this new year, as well. Happy New Year!
