A Walk After the Rain

This past week, southern California has had the rare occasion of experiencing some much needed and delightful rain. Well, mostly delightful - I enjoy it when I am in my bed or cozy in our house! On Wednesday, I did have to run several assemblies at school and things are always much more complicated with the rain out here - but I can't complain, it went well!

On Wednesday evening (2/16/11), Andrew, E, and I headed out for an evening walk after a day of showers. It is always beautiful after the rain - it washes away the smog and leaves a fresh scent. We knew that more rain was predicted, so we wanted to get out and take a walk while we could! So, we bundled up and headed out for a short walk down the block.

Evie loves walking everywhere so we didn't even attempt to put her in the stroller or wagon. We just have to know and plan for a nice, slow stroll when she is on her own :)

We didn't get too far anyways because our neighbors were out and we stopped to chat awhile. Evie enjoyed watching the neighbor boys play soccer! She also was very excited to point to and say her new favorite word, moon! We read "Goodnight Moon" every night before bed and now she will point to the moon anytime she sees it and say something like "mmmmm000sh"!
Here we are starring up at the sky and seeing the full moon beginning to shine!

It was a quick jaunt down the block, but enough to fill our lungs with some nice, fresh air :)
