Joshua Tree

Andrew (finally) turned in his final paper (yea!) and we quickly got out of town! We headed here:
Joshua Tree National Park.
When we arrived at the park, Evie quickly set up her camp as we set up our tent, etc.

She loved walking around and exploring our site. We looked at and carefully touched the cactus and some different plants!

After lunch, we headed out for a hike to enjoy the beautiful day. Being in the desert, sunscreen and hats are part of the attire, right? Evie didn't think so...

She was not a fan of the hat. However, since she was already so mad, we decided that we had nothing else to loose and put her in the backpack. You will remember from the last post that Evie hated her backpack and would not ride in it...

until now!
It took a little while, and we had to break out the paci, and Evie would not let go of her comfort object - the cup - but we finally made it...

a happy hiker! By the end of the hike, Evie had even fallen asleep in the backpack - a sign that she was totally comfortable :) Also, since then, Evie continually walks up to the backpack and says "bapa!" She loves it now.
Baby Boy also enjoyed Joshua Tree!

We had a great time at Joshua Tree and it was so good to get out of Pasadena for while!
