A Walk in the "Park"

A few Sundays ago, we decided to get out and enjoy the morning before church. Andrew and I used to like going to church as early as possible so that we would still have most of our day (I know, terrible reason), however, now the church we go to doesn't start until 11 and we are loving the later start! This gives E time to nap before church, Andrew is often able to get some reading in, or, like on this particular Sunday, we can go for a hike! ( I should also add that we just really like going to church now for the community and growth that we have been experiencing there - not just because of the start time!)

This seemed like a perfectly normal and great idea to Andrew and I...Evie didn't reciprocate the feeling, however. First, I must note that Andrew spent most of his Christmas money on this hiking back-pack so that he and Ev could take hikes together on the mornings that he is watching her. Up until this date, he had tried once to take her out in the back-pack and she had an absolute melt down! Also, a side note, Evie has been a little sheepish of things lately...swings, loud noises, a lion stuffed animal, etc. So, I wasn't that surprised that she didn't like the back-pack at first, but I was confident that she would grow to love it!
This is Evie "learning to love" the backpack!
So, needless to say, Evie walked/was carried (by me) for the hike to the waterfall. I have also recently read that separation anxiety peaks between 12-18 months and E really loves Mama these days.
Of course, I love this, I just got a lot of exercise this day from carrying both my babies :)
Once we got to the waterfall, Evie started to smile a little bit more

and by the time we got back to the car, she was loving the flowers and back to her giggly self!
Despite the challenges surrounding the backpack, we had a lovely morning, enjoyed the beautiful weather, and headed off to church soon following this adventure...all around, a great way to start a new week.
