Yesterday, I went to pick Ev up in the nursery at church and she was sitting at the table, in a regular chair, having her snack! She was just sitting there, with all the other big kids, doing exactly what she needed to be doing. EvieD just looked so old and grown up. She was so beautiful just sitting there!
Today, we went to the park and she continued to "grow up" before my eyes. Up until now, she has needed me to hold on to her while going down the slides. Not today, not anymore. After 2 times down with me holding on to her, I decided to let her try on her own. It took a little persuading to get her to actually slide down, but as soon as she did, by herself, she was sold! We had to do the slide 100 more times before going down...all with her sitting at the top, sliding down alone, arms in the air, giggles the whole way. Again, too grown up.
I love that Evie is growing up and learning so much. This is such a fun stage of life and age for her - she really is like a sponge - absorbing so much. As proud of her as I am and as much as I love watching her grow up, I can't believe how "old" Evie already is! It seems like just the other day that I was rocking my newborn baby! I am sure I will be saying this 1 million more times over the next few years, but I can't believe how fast Evie is growing up!
I love it. I love her. I love being a mom.
